How to increase your earning potential
We all want to earn more to spend and experience the things we like. Increasing your earning potential can land you that promotion or new job that you have been looking for. Here are a few tips that can get you headed in the right direction.
Be proactive – If your looking to get a raise or a promotion, make a list of areas that you can work on now. These could then be professionally highlighted to your superior at your next evaluation.
Ask for that raise – If you had a strong, positive performance review, you could approach your boss for a raise. When scheduling a meeting on this matter, schedule it at a time where both parties are relatively relaxed and when you both have a lesser workload. This will increase your chances of receiving a positive response.
Switch Fields – Switching fields is a great way to expand your potential and your skill set. Do this by updating your resume, Linkedin profile and keeping a lookout for new openings on job vacancy sites.
Your resume – Keep in mind that your resume needs to be amended to the position and company you are applying to.
Ask for what you want – When you are being interviewed and you are asked about your package, don’t hesitate to ask for the package that you feel you are worth.
Add skills – To add more skills to your current skill set, ask your superior for projects that challenge and those that are out of your current skill set.
